Sweet and Wet
Elizabeth Robinson

Women have died from time to time
For love and worms have eaten them and I
Have rewritten myself the dog
Beneath the skin and faithful forever
When you break the heirloom and simper
I will throw my shirt off I will
Throw myself in a fountain of it
I will pick up the pieces I will
Stand here in the sun sweet and wet
And not drowning but waving
