Antiques
Frances Boyle

I hate old things

My mind is getting younger every day

I hate old things

I lose memories like mittens, scarves

Antiques, I scoff, choke
at the price my wife
is willing to pay
for crap

My second wife? My only wife
the daughters say      gone     I don’t
                                            remember
                               I’m bitter about that

Old things, worse
for wearing

                               Bitterness, a fist
